Visit the Perkins Stone Mansion, home of Akron & Summit County’s founding family, and John Brown House, rented by Summit County’s most consequential resident and the abolitionist who sparked the American Civil War. Guests will enjoy vintage clothing, artifacts, furniture and modern art (a Society John Brown Institute and Akron Black Artist Guild partnership). Sheep and working dogs are on the property spring to fall. Farm Friday programming is free for preschool-6th grade students each Friday all summer. Upcoming celebrations: 2024 Society Centennial & 2025 City of Akron Bicentennial.
