The Danube Schwabians are ethnic Germans who settled along the rich farming lands of the Danube River Valley during the early part of the eighteenth century In 1970, 20 acres of the old Ritter Farm were renamed Lenau Park in honor of the lyric poet Nikolaus Lenau (born in the Banat in 1802) who lived in Ohio for some time. Our museum displays donations from members and friends. It is to be a place for young people to foster their ethnic heritage, language, and traditions. To this end, the folk costumes, regalia, tools, books, prints, and photographs retell the story of the Donauschwaben.
