Richfield Heritage Preserve, formerly Camp Crowell Hilaka, is “Ohio's Hidden Treasure." In the 1920s & 30s, it was home to inventor Jim Kirby, who built a patented lake, a dance hall on springs, a rustic house, and an experimental mill. The Cleveland Girl Scouts bought the land and the adjoining Neal estate. In 2015, the camp was purchased by the citizens of Richfield and it is now a 336-acre public park. Visitors may enjoy beautiful hiking trails. Gund Hall and some shelters may be rented. Guided history tours are available on request. Note: some buildings closed pending restoration.
